- Old-school drummer/songwriter, now using New-school music-editing technology.
- Working with Mary Cutrufello & Mark Hutchins on VEATCH -THIS RIDE AIN'T OVER- [songs of Griffin "Ghost" Veatch] featuring Mark Hutchins and Mary Cutrufello.
- Released June 2009.
- Griff played drums in the Brazosport/Houston area in the late 70s-early 80s. He had stopped playing & gigging to do the job/family/divorce/custodial single-dad life, but he continued to write throughout.
- He was all but 'taken out' healthwise beginning in 1997. By 1999-2000 he was hospitalized repetitively and his life was all but taken-away from him.
- After spending several years as a basic shut-in [2000-2004], he slowly re-started his songwriting efforts with acid-pro music-editing software; a desktop & laptop; a few new mics; a few new (and a few old) guitars; a few new (and a few old) friends and musicians; along with a few Music/sound library CDs; and with over 30 years worth of pent-up songwriting frustration as extra driving-force, he set out to pull a [Warren] "Zevon" and get some tunes out while he still could.
- Sometime in 2006 he started working feverishly on songwriting/music and started putting together his first project.
- By 2007 he made his way to Austin, TX. where he finished working on the SSRP [Symple Symon and the Rhymin' Pie-men] experimental-rock "One-Eyed Willie for President" CD in 2007 at Ray Benson's/Asleep At The Wheel's ''Bismeaux'' studio.
- Griff wrote, arranged, and Produced the project, and Cris "The Fire" Burns did engineering/final mixing/additional recording/mastering.
- Griff also wrote, arranged and Produced the songs for June 2009 released project: VEATCH -THIS RIDE AIN'T OVER- [songs of Griffin "Ghost" Veatch] featuring Mark Hutchins and Mary Cutrufello.
- When working on finishing the 'Ride' project between home [Lake Jackson, TX.] and THE FIRE mastering studio in Austin, TX. Griff said "I wanted to use 'One-Eyed Willie' as a learning experience. I'm strickly Old-school... tape, analog...I hadn't even been in a studio in...what? hah! Waaay too long to mention!! Like 20-25 years? or so... I wanted to sort of treat it as an 'experimental' project. Guitar-rock none-the-less, but with a varied sound. Some electric-guitar instrumentals, some punk, some psychedelic. With "Pledge[trippin' version]" there's that rap/voice-effect thing goin' on... I'm glad I chose Bismeaux to finish it up! Cris was great!! Everyone at Bismeaux were good folks!! I got to meet Ray [Benson] and get a few autographs...had a brief conversation about John Prine...good times!!"
- He adds "With the 'RIDE' project, I'm again working with Cris, but at his own place, THE FIRE mastering studio in Austin. Mark is on-board, again, for a bunch of tracks. And I am GRACED, blessed...whatever word you want to pick, to have Mary Cutrufello on board for about 1/2 of this project as well!! She's fantastic!! I LOVE to listen to her sing!..."
