Griffin Veatch is a drummer/professional photographer/songwriter/recording-artist/musician/producer. Born in 1959 in Taylor, Texas, and moved to Freeport in 1970, Griff lived throughout the Freeport/Lake Jackson/Brazosport area ever since. Throughout his childhood, Griff developed an appreciation for story-telling music, as well as fuzzed-out bar-chorded electric-guitars, and by the time he was 20 or so, could be heard [loudly] enjoying KISS, JOHN PRINE, FOGHAT, and WAYLON on a daily basis.
Before getting sick, Griff was tall, lanky, had long dark hair, and usually a dark beard. During, and after, being sick- with hundreds of assorted RXs having been tossed[prescribed] his way- steroids, & light-chemo included- his weight and appearance drastically fluxuated....He'd tip the scales at 220 one month, and be down to 135 two months later!! For a year or so, around the turn of the century[2000-2001] he basically couldn't walk or talk. He was feared/assumed near death. At one point his family members were told by his 'then' doctors, that there was basically nothing else to do for him-that they should put him in a rest/nursing-home. Luckily, for Griff and all concerned, he found new doctors, and has made slow, gradual improvments. The RXs, side-effects, and illnesses have taken a toll, and he's come out the other side as "Ghost"- a chubby, slower, shorter, majorly-gray version of what he was...
but as he himself says "I'm still here!!"..."Still [at least partially] vertical!!"
Rawhk Awhn!!!!
